Atéa Scotland Tour Part 4!

For the boys staying in the Bobbin guest house our Friday began with a superb full Scottish breakfast which was also Phillip's first ever experience of haggis (he was a fan!).

Over breakfast we got talking to the lovely Helen who owns the guesthouse, she was such a nice lady! She heard that I was planning to go for a run after breakfast (I'm in training for running the length of Hadrian's Wall that me and some friends are doing to raise money for Hospice in the Weald, more info here) and immediately went and grabbed a leaflet to show me a good route. So I grabbed my running stuff and headed out on what turned out to be an absolutely incredible route through the Gatehouse scenery.

Before heading off onto the next leg of our tour we stopped by to pick up the girls from their host's. We were absolutely amazed when the chap there showed us his collection of vintage penguin books all housed safely in their fantastic home that they'd lovingly designed.

On route to our next stop we nipped into the distillery at Annandale (Anna-ndale) where we took a tour and learnt all about the process of making whisky, they only recently began production so we're hoping to return in 2018 to sample their end product!

The cafe and the distillery itself were both beautifully and lovingly crafted with a lot of unique wooden features that coincidentally were made by the same joiner as the penguin house in Kirkcudbright!

We then finally moved onto Moffat where we were greeted by their trademark drizzle! Apparently it has rained there every day since October! In spite of this we had a really lovely time in their charming theatre. After our concert we went back to our respective hosts who all took fantastic care of us and I think we all had a whiskey nightcap or two to send us to bed!

  1. Glad your tour is going well . Your performance at Richard and Emma"s was fantastic. I hope you've had to to play the Teddy bears picnic at every concert☺
